Deconstruct Code

BJP has its own deconstruct code embedded in its FM. Or is Amit Shah not getting the kind of feedback he needs? All that Siddhu wanted was a role in Punjab assembly election. AJ, who lost Siddhu’s hard earned BJP seat of Amritsar is apparently taking a call on Siddhu. This is as absurd as it can get.

In India political parties work as closed coteries and inevitably learn wrong lessons from political defeats Because the coterie guards against ‘outsiders’ and contrarian perceptions. They feed upon their own propaganda. Congress with its Supreme leadership and their cronies have set the terms for such a political practice BJP is trying to follow it religiously .

Key to recovering or escaping from an imminent defeat is -listen to the party, listen to the cadre. The group that surrounds the leadership will only echo what you say. That’s how they lost Bihar election. That’s why they will lose Punjab election. And loose badly with or without Akalis.

Only one thing can save them – most Punjab BJP guys understand it- but there seems little chance of that ever getting okayed from the BJP high command.

Before Bihar election I had told a senior BJP functionary “You are losing this election and loosing very badly”, he laughed and threw caste equations analyses and surveys at me.

Siddhu alone is not the factor but Siddhu case is a confirmation of worst apprehension of Punjab BJP leaders that the decision making in the party is cadre independent, self contained, non political and driven by PR agencies and their excel sheets.

Mr Modi forgets he would never have become a PM candidate if BJP cadre had not so overwhelmingly campaigned for him. A friend was there in that Nagpur meet when Advani ji came out all guns blazing against Modi’s candidature. Octogenarian leader was told the cadre will revolt. But then that was then. And the now is a completely different universe.
