Education Loans: AAP Keen On Advertisement, Not In Execution Of Plan

The AAP government has already spent so much money on the advertisement regarding loans for students under ‘Higher Education Credit Guarantee Scheme’, which it launched recently. But while admissions are in full swing, students applying for graduate and postgraduate courses in government and private colleges have no idea about the procedure to apply for such loans because the government itself is yet to come up with the procedure in this regard.

The city government recently approved an education scheme under which loans of up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided to students pursing higher education in the national Capital, but failed to convert this plan into action. If sources are to be believed, the government has not charted out the procedure for students to apply for these loans, neither does the Delhi government website contain any necessary information about procedure to get such loans. Students and parents have been running from pillar to post in universities to find out the exact procedure for the loans, which is also proposed to be given for ITIs and polytechnic colleges.

According to the scheme, students pursuing any skill development course or diploma or degree course after finishing qualifying examination from any school and educational institution in Delhi are eligible for this loan. According to the proposal, students would be provided loans up to Rs 10 lakh without any collateral or third party guarantee or margin money. There would be no processing charges for the same.

In the run up to the last Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party had promised that students, who wish to pursue any diploma or degree course after finishing Class XII from any school in Delhi will be given bank loans with the government standing as a guarantor. Later, after forming the government, the party has advertised at length about the scheme. The scheme covers all recognised degree and diploma, skill development courses of approved institutions through entrance test and merit based selection. Earlier also, AAP governments several claims, including jailing several officials for corruption, have come under scanner. (By Yournews Network)

  4. This reveals a classic implementation gap—announcing initiatives without execution frameworks. As someone who understands platform operations, successful programs need clear user pathways before launch. Much like jlboss structures transparent VIP processes, education loans require accessible application procedures to actually serve students. Hope the government prioritizes operational clarity over promotional spending.
